Well there goes most of the anti-gun folks argument.

I'm really looking forward to not seeing the "Are you in the militia?" crap anymore!

I have always answered that with, "Yes, I am in the militia."

I prefer: "I _AM_ the militia."

We all are, as citizens. With guns, we are off-duty militiamen, for it is our duty to see to our rights even if violent action must be taken.

    I'm anti-gun but I support the 2nd amendment.

What I mean is that I don't like guns, won't have them in my home, and prefer to live in places where the majority do not own or use guns. However, the constitution was written for a reason and I don't think the supreme court should be able to override it.

What freaks me out is that this bill was 5-4....that's way to close for something so clearly defined in the constitution.

You know that is a great attitude to have. I do not agree with a lot of things that people legally do.. that does not mean that I push to outlaw these things, I simply do not partake. It seems like common sense to me. I wish the world was a place where I did not feel like I needed to own a gun to feel safe.. sadly my feelings on gun ownership were confirmed earlier this year when I had to protect myself with a handgun(luckily no shots had to be fired, just having the tool was good enough to avoid possible death or serious injury and further destruction of my property)

I agree completely. But there is more to owning a gun that just self protection. A lot of people also enjoy to hunt (responsibly mind you).

But again, it's scary to think that the ruling was 5-4, because criminals don't obey our laws, so an anti-gun ruling would be helping out criminals; not all of us law-abiding and responsible gun owners.

"A lot of people also enjoy to hunt (responsibly mind you). "

For that matter, a lot of people just enjoy target practice. Shooting is actually fun, and it gives you a healthy respect for what a gun can do. You're less likely to kill yourself or someone else with a gun if you are properly educated and trained with guns.

And when bad things happen, gun owners like me will gladly come to your aid because you respected our rights to own firearms.

And you may be surprised at the tall, cool blonde who'll come to your rescue as well. Not all of us who carry fit the ballcap & cammo-wearing, truck driving stereotype. I'll be the one in the pencil skirt and high heels driving the red rocketsled.

Just remember, an armed society is a polite society.

Absolutely. I drive a Honda Civic, before that a Honda Insight (was totaled in an accident), I'm FAR from your stereotypical "redneck, truck driving type".

I commend your attitude as well. I wish more people were as open minded as you.
